V. Dirigatur,
Domine, oratio mea.
R. Sicut incensum in conspectu tuo.
V.
Lord, let my prayer be set forth.
R. Even as
the incense in thy sight.
Your prayers are requested for
the following intentions
Abbé Joseph Vérité, RIP
Please
pray for the repose of the soul of Father Joseph Vérité, who passed
away at the age of 91 during the night of Tuesday to Wednesday,
August 25, the feast of St. Louis, King of France.
His funeral took place on August 29, and was celebrated by Father G.
Roger in the small chapel of St. Joseph de Lorient, which Fr. Vérité
had faithfully served for many years.
Ordained before the Second Vatican Council, Fr. Vérité was quick to
join the resistance movement against conciliar modernism.
Perhaps the oldest living sede vacantist priest at the time of his
death, he was best known for the remarkable retreats he gave
according to the Exercises of St. Ignatius, which he continued to
preach, in spite of bad health, until very recently. He was
also well known for his skills in family counseling.
Please pray for the repose of the soul of this brave and courageous
priest who gave his life for the Church and Our Lord.
Philip Kunkel
Please pray for Philip Kunkel, brother of Tom Kunkel, who has been admitted to Intensive Care with a case of pancreatitis. Philip, whose condition is listed as serious, is 38 years old and has a family of eight.
Abbot Leonard, OSB
Please keep in your prayers Abbot Leonard, the Superior of Christ the King Abbey in Cullman, Alabama, who suffered a stroke last week. Currently he is in the hospital being well cared for and monitored; one of the monks is always with him. The most recent prognosis is very encouraging; at this time, there does not seem to be any paralysis but due to his weakness and continued need for rest he is not yet receiving visitors.
Pete Fradl
Pete is currently undergoing rehab in
the V A facility in Murfreesboro TN. He is somewhat alert but still
has memory lapses. Since this was a non-service connected illness,
the V A will only allow 35 days of free rehab, after which Pete will
have to be moved somewhere else for continued treatment. Social
Security will not pay for this rehab until he has had SS for two
years; until he gets his SS & VA Pension thru, he has no income
whatsoever.
Les Pomerville
Medical testing has determined that Les' cancer cells have spread closer to his left lymph node. Please renew your prayers for his complete recovery as he arranges a second round of radiation treatment.
Ruth Bastaja
Ruth is recuperating from hip surgery at Wexley Glen rehab in Columbus. Please keep her in your prayers that she makes a speedy and complete recovery from her fall.
Judy Fradl
Judy is feeling a lot better after her release from hospital in Huntsville, Alabama, after suffering a problem with her heart.
Ernie Nellenbach
Please continue to pray for our old friend Ernie Nellenbach who has been diagnosed with cancer of the liver and bowel tract. Although treatment is underway, we understand that his condition is terminal. We count on your frequent and fervent prayers to help Ernie and his family through this terrible trial.
Ron Boehm
Ron is now in assisted living at Maria Joseph in Emma Hall #223, after being hospitalized at Good Samaritan and then undergoing rehab.
Andrew Debrosse
Your prayers are asked for Andrew Debrosse, a friend of one of our parishioners, who is suffering from terminal cancer.
